Cross Country Season 2021/22 Starts
Woking Athletic Club athletes were in action last weekend representing Surrey at the annual Southern Inter-counties Championships.
Relocated this year from Oxford to Lloyd Park in Croydon, the hilly and slippery course was no less challenging but despite this the Woking Juniors truly shone in races where over 12 Counties were represented.
In the U13G, Lola Roake and Imogen Freeman, despite this being their first County vests, ran very sensible races. Having studied the course, both started slowly and started moving through the field in the latter stages with Lola (6th) leading the Surrey girls’ home to Gold.
Martin Sunderland (U17M) also ran strongly to support his Surrey U17 teammates.
Woking are next in action in the Surrey Cross Country Championships at Denbies on Sunday 9th January 2022.
