WOKING ATHLETIC CLUB

The 2026 Surrey Road League has come to an end, and what a season it’s been for Woking AC!

Across eight races, from a fast and furious 3k to the half marathon, our athletes delivered week after week against the very best clubs in Surrey.

πŸ₯‡ Our men’s team are Surrey Road League Champions once again, successfully defending the title with another outstanding season of consistent performances.

πŸ₯ˆ Our women’s team finished as Surrey Road League runners-up, coming heartbreakingly close to the title. It all came down to the final race, where they narrowly missed out after a season that deserved every bit of recognition. While the trophy just escaped them, they should be immensely proud of an incredible campaign.

Our athletes also dominated the individual age category standings across the league:

πŸ… Senior Women (U35)

πŸ₯‡ Martha Collings

πŸ₯ˆ Imogen Freeman

πŸ… Women 35–44

πŸ₯‡ Georgie Furze

πŸ₯ˆ Kylara Hassall

πŸ₯‰ Claire Brittain

πŸ… Women 45–54

πŸ₯‰ Kath Taylor

πŸ… Senior Men (U35)

πŸ₯ˆ Thomas Skentos

πŸ₯‰ Jacob Bowyer

πŸ… Men 35–44

πŸ₯‡ Jamie Ludlow

πŸ₯ˆ John Hutchins

πŸ… Men 45–54

πŸ₯‰ David Brighton

A huge thank you also goes to those behind the scenes:

πŸ‘ James Gamble, our Senior Endurance Coach, whose guidance continues to help athletes of all abilities thrive.

πŸ‘ Ben Goddard, Men’s Team Manager, for expertly leading another championship-winning campaign.

πŸ‘ Georgie Furze, Women’s Team Manager, for inspiring and organising a team that came within touching distance of league glory.

Congratulations to everyone who represented Woking AC this season. To retain the men’s title while pushing the women’s competition right to the very last race is a fantastic achievement and one the whole club can be proud of.

Now the challenge is clear… we’re coming back next season with one goal: bringing home the double. πŸŸ πŸ†
