Getting to Know… Eleanor Buckle – Edition 16 
Faster than Mo Farah.
Yep, you read that right — and this time we’re stepping out of the endurance group and over to the sprints & jumps squad, where raw speed rules. 
Meet Eleanor Buckle, who’s just wrapped up a brilliant season — one that saw her clock a blistering 12.68 seconds for 100m, setting a new PB and officially outpacing Mo’s own 100m best of 12.98. 
And the best part? She’s actually met him too — grabbing a photo with Sir Mo when he visited the Woking track earlier this year. Not everyone can say they’ve beaten an Olympic legend… and have the picture to prove it. 
“My favourite event is the 100m sprint. I got into it through district sports at school and carried it on into academy. I’ve always preferred the shorter sprint races.”
It’s been a standout season — with that new PB, a place at the South of England Championships, and plenty of experience competing among some of the best young sprinters around.
But for Eleanor, athletics is about more than results.
“Not only has athletics helped me maintain my fitness — it’s given me confidence, motivation, drive, and teamwork skills. It’s also given me the chance to step out of my comfort zone and meet new people.” 
When the spikes come off, the pace slows right down.
“My favourite way to celebrate is to have a nice meal at Wagamama’s after a competition with my family!” 
And one final fact that might cause a stir at home…
“I have a twin brother — who is obviously not as fast as me.”
